Desire Petroleum plc (AIM:DES) the oil and gas exploration company, wholly focussed on the North Falkland Basin, is pleased to announce that it has submitted the Environmental Impact Assessment ("EIA") Addendum, which is required for the planned drilling programme, anticipated to commence in Q1 2010.  The update includes details of the Ocean Guardian drilling rig which will be used by Desire and its partners throughout H1 2010.
 
The updated EIA has been submitted to the Falkland Island Government for its approval, which is anticipated to be formally issued shortly thereafter.
 
A copy of the EIA Addendum will be posted on the Desire Petroleum plc website in due course.
